Lee Crumbaugh, Forrest Consulting's founder, is a management, planning and communications expert. As a consultant he has helped many organizations address management, planning, publishing, marketing and communications opportunities and issues.
He now leads organizational growth as Vice President, Marketing, for a premier accredited association management firm. Lee has driven fund-raising and organizational success as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President, Marketing, of a major United Way; founded and led a business organization that addressed economic, business development and entrepreneurship issues; founded and led a consumer publishing company; served as Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Continental Bank, Chicago; edited an award-winning national financial magazine and served as Vice President, marketing director and market researcher for a national financial trade association; and worked for a major daily newspaper and a national title company.
He earned his M.B.A., marketing management concentration, finance emphasis, from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He has a Bachelor of Science degree, news-editorial journalism, from University of Illinois. He attended Colorado State University and completed a financial executive program at Indiana University.
Lee has written many articles, software tutorials, greeting cards and a thesis on interstate banking, and contributed to books and other publications. He has conducted business seminars, offered presentations on a wide variety of topics, and taught journalism.
He has been a leader in business and community organizations. He has chaired a political caucus and public school referenda, been an elected official, managed political campaigns, served on a task force to streamline government, and chaired his county's sesquicentennial celebration. He was a board member and development chair for domestic violence agency; national committee chair and local board member for the Arthritis Foundation; and a founding trustee of an educational foundation serving six school districts.
He is a 12-year Ironman triathlete and has run 34 marathons, including six Boston Marathons. He is a former competitive speed skater. Lee and spouse Sherry live in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. They have three adult children and a granddaughter.
